Church of Ste. Anne (Ste. Anne du Ruisseau)

The Church of Ste. Anne is the oldest Acadian parish on mainland Nova Scotia. A municipality registered heritage property, the architecture and decor of the church speaks eloquently of local faith and artisanship.

Cape Forchu Lightstation (Cape Forchu)

The lighthouse at Cape Forchu was established in 1840 to guide vessels into picturesque Yarmouth which was one of the leading ship-owning ports in Canada. The current lighthouse was built in 1962 and was staffed until 1993 making it the last lighthouse in Nova Scotia to be tended by resident light-keepers.

Lighthouse Park (Cape Saint Mary)

Fort Anne National Historic Site (Annapolis Royal)

This is Nme’juaqnek - place of bountiful fish and a traditional fishing and gathering place for the Mi’kmaw. It became the centre of early European colonization and settlement. In the 1600s and 1700s, both the French and the British held military control here at times and fought for it at others. On this Mi’kmaw territory rich history abounds. Fort Anne is the first operated national historic site in Canada, designated in 1917.
